Now coming back to the pros and cons of living in metro cities, let us begin with the pros:

1.      Better lifestyle: Living in a metro city has its own perks. You will get to enjoy a lavish life. All the luxuries of the world are available to you when you live in a major city. All the metro cities in India are techno hubs. Apart from that, you get to visit the biggest malls, 5-star hotels, hospitals, many airports, etc. Well- maintained roads, easy commutation, reachable utility service centers, and much more are present in these metro cities.
2.      Better opportunities: Metro cities are the places with rapid developments; hence, better and more job and business opportunities grow here every day. Thus, these places are the best to earn a respectable living for yourself.

Now let’s move on to the cons of a life in a metro:

1.      Costly lifestyle: We just told you how lavish a metro lifestyle can be but did we miss telling you that it will take a heavy toll on your pockets too? Even the basic amenities such as water, electricity, house tax, etc. are much costlier in these cities than in other urban or semi-urban cities. Let’s take the example of Delhi and Lucknow, the cost of electricity per unit in Lucknow is approximately Rs 5 and that in Delhi is Rs 8. The heavy traffic in these cities will result in the consumption of more petrol and everybody is well aware of the hiking petrol prices. Even the public transports such as buses and metros are not very cheap.

2.      Away from nature: This is the biggest drawback of living in a metro city. You cannot hope to see a farm or a forest in these cities. All that is left in the name of greenery are some parks and gardens most of which are the gifts of the previous rulers of ancient India. Expressways and metros cost severe deforestation. Pollution comes in handy with such circumstances. We all know what smog is and how harmful it is.

Just like anything else, there are many positives and negatives of living in a metro city as well. It’s just up to you how well can you handle both of them.
